Title 9: Pittsburgh’s Premier Women’s Sports Watch Bar Opens
Pittsburgh has officially welcomed its first women’s sports watch bar, Title 9, located in East Liberty. The bar celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured prominent local female athletes from teams such as the Pittsburgh Passion (football), Pittsburgh Riveters (soccer), and East End Debs (softball).
A Celebration of Women’s Sports
Owner Sherree Goldstein expressed her excitement, having prepared for this milestone for more than a year. “We’re just highlighting all about women and girls,” Goldstein stated. This space aims to promote women’s athletic achievements and provide a welcoming environment for all sports enthusiasts.
High-Tech Viewing Experience
Located on Centre Avenue, Title 9 features an array of seven large-screen televisions dedicated to broadcasting women’s sports, covering a range of disciplines from the WNBA to rugby. The innovative design also includes plans for an upstairs deck that will offer a scenic view of East Liberty, enhancing the overall experience for patrons.
Pittsburgh’s Growing Sports Community
“Pittsburgh is ripe and ready for it,” Goldstein remarked, reflecting on the enthusiastic response from the community. Inspired by similar establishments on the West Coast, the team behind Title 9 recognized a significant opportunity in Pittsburgh’s strong sports culture to create something unique.
Opening Hours
Title 9 will operate daily from 4 PM to 10 PM, excluding Tuesdays and Wednesdays, offering ample opportunities for fans to gather and support women’s teams. With existing plans to expand the venue further, Title 9 aims to become a central hub for all women’s sports events in the city.
