Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Expands to Schools
The campaign for Sixteen Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is gaining significant traction as Mrs. Ify Obinabo, the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, takes this vital message into schools.
During a recent engagement with students at Kenneth Dike Memorial Secondary School, Mrs. Obinabo addressed critical issues including the risks associated with indecent dressing and the severe consequences of rape. She encouraged students to be vigilant and proactive in safeguarding themselves and their peers.
Students such as Nonso Ofonze, Rita Nwafor, and Chioma Okonkwo shared their insights and expressed a commitment to disseminating the crucial information they learned back to their families and communities.
This initiative is organized collaboratively by the State Ministries of Health and Women Affairs, in partnership with the World Health Organization. It seeks to create awareness and foster discussions on gender-based violence and its impact on society.
