Exciting New Women-Only Fitness Program Launches in Lake Katrine
LAKE KATRINE, N.Y. — Since the opening of GroupFit on March 17, owner and coach Marc Persico is thrilled to report, “Business has been fantastic!” The new gym is dedicated to providing a “women-only” fitness program that encourages empowerment and strength.
Growing Membership and Personalized Sessions
Persico shared in an email two weeks after the launch that the club, which features a fitness program akin to CrossFit, started with 52 members and is currently offering free one-on-one introductory sessions almost daily. Founding members enjoy unlimited classes for a promotional monthly fee of $100, valid with a three- to six-month commitment.
Membership Structure
The standard monthly fee for unlimited classes will be $155. To maintain an intimate and supportive environment, Persico plans to limit memberships to a maximum of 150.
A Close-Knit Community
“We aim to cultivate a sense of community here,” he explained. “We’ll engage in social activities outside of the gym, fostering a fitness family atmosphere.”
Unique Fitness Approach
Highlighting the unique experience at GroupFit, Persico noted the distinct difference between their facility and typical gym memberships. “The structure of a class-based facility encourages accountability and camaraderie,” he emphasized. “Members will experience more motivation and support here than they would in a standard gym setting.”
Functional Fitness for All Ages
GroupFit focuses on “functional fitness,” designed to help individuals maintain their fitness levels at any age. This includes benefits such as increased bone density, enhanced metabolism, and overall improved functionality.
“Strength training is crucial for maintaining independence as we age,” Persico stated. “If people don’t incorporate strength training, they may struggle with even simple tasks in their later years.”
Expert Coaching
As a Level One-certified CrossFit coach, Persico is committed to teaching safe lifting techniques and proper forms within a safe, welcoming environment. “The strategy of small group training for women fosters a supportive atmosphere that is designed for success,” he remarked.
A Lifelong Commitment to Fitness
Having been introduced to CrossFit around a decade ago, Persico has maintained a fitness-centric lifestyle throughout his life. He believes that fitness should be a sustainable lifestyle choice, enhancing every other aspect of life, from energy levels to mood and relationships.
Catering to Women’s Unique Needs
GroupFit addresses the needs of women who have faced challenges in their fitness journeys but still value health and wellness. “We tailor workouts to fit each member’s fitness level, ensuring everyone feels empowered to participate,” Persico stated. “Our program ensures that individuals with varying abilities can engage simultaneously and adapt the exercises to their needs.”
An Inspiring and Welcoming Environment
At GroupFit, the supportive environment ensures women will not feel intimidated. Members will engage in workouts without the distractions often experienced in co-ed settings. “Our training includes activities like rope climbing and tire flipping, all designed to help women achieve their fitness goals while cultivating confidence,” Persico explained.
Personal Growth and Progression
Persico believes that progress is personal. “Everyone here is on their unique fitness journey, and our focus is on self-improvement rather than competition,” he mentioned. “Our nurturing environment encourages members to thrive at their own pace.”
Achieve Your Best Self
With commitment, those who join GroupFit can look forward to achieving their best shape ever. “There’s no better approach than integrating strength and conditioning. The varied workouts keep it fresh and effective, allowing participants to avoid plateaus,” he shared. “The endurance training component is key for burning calories and weight loss.”
