Join the Celebration of Women in Sports Day in Kosciusko County
Event Overview
The Kosciusko County Historical Society is excited to announce a community festival on Saturday, June 28, recognizing the achievements of female athletes in the county. The event, titled “Celebration of Women in Sports Day,” will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the society’s location, 121 N. Indiana St., Warsaw.
Activities and Demonstrations
This family-friendly event will offer attendees the chance to explore a variety of sports, including:
- Pickleball
- Hockey
- Volleyball
- And more!
Demonstrations will be conducted by local organizations such as:
- Lake City Skiers
- Relentless Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
- Debra Collier’s School of Dance
Additionally, the 2025 Warsaw girls’ basketball team will be hosting a free throw shooting contest and dribbling drills, complete with prize giveaways thanks to community contributions, including Meijer.
Special Ceremonies
A ceremonial recognition will commence at 10 a.m., honoring the 1976 and 1978 Warsaw Girls Championship Basketball Teams alongside the 2015 Tippecanoe Valley Girls State Runner-ups. This segment will be emceed by Rita Price, an Indiana Basketball Hall of Famer.

In tandem with the celebrations, the museum is showcasing an exhibit dedicated to women in sports, featuring:
- Jerseys
- Trophies
- Photographs of notable athletes
- Historical images of early female athletes
The museum will remain open to the public throughout the event, with free admission. Donations are welcomed to support ongoing community initiatives.
