A significant collaboration has emerged in the film and television industry as Stage 32, a prominent platform dedicated to education in film, TV, and digital content creation, teams up with Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI). This partnership, announced during the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, designates Stage 32 as the official educational provider for all 57 chapters and affiliates of WIFTI globally.
The partnership aims to bridge critical skill gaps for women across various and emerging film sectors. “As filmmaking evolves worldwide, supported by new talent and favorable tax incentives, this collaboration is essential,” the partners stated. With access to over 3,000 hours of online courses, webinars, and labs—many led by celebrated industry figures, including Oscar, Emmy, and BAFTA winners—this initiative promises invaluable training. Notable instructors featured in the courses include Meg LeFauve, Nick Vallelonga, David Seidler, Alec Sokolow, and Christopher Anthony, alongside acclaimed talents like Terence Blanchard and Lesley Paterson.
In addition to educational offerings, the partnership includes special events such as bi-annual virtual open houses with distinguished keynote speakers, as well as collaboration on educational panels and networking events at major film festivals and industry gatherings. “Both organizations are focused on creating sustainable opportunities for women to thrive within the film and television landscape,” they added.
Dr. Susan Liddy, president of WIFTI, expressed enthusiasm regarding the alliance, stating, “This partnership with Stage 32 represents a crucial turning point for WIFTI and its international network. By granting access to Stage 32’s remarkable educational resources, we enable women in film and television to enhance their skills and tap into new opportunities within this vibrant industry.”
Meanwhile, Richard Botto, CEO of Stage 32, emphasized the platform’s commitment to inclusivity in education: “This collaboration reinforces our mission to make industry education accessible, equipping WIFTI members with the necessary tools to tell impactful stories.”
