Empowering Women Through Financial Education: Money Matters for Women Event
The Women’s Collective Ireland is excited to announce a valuable educational opportunity for women in Limerick. The Money Matters for Women event will take place on October 16 at the Absolute Hotel.
Event Objectives
This initiative aims to equip women with essential financial knowledge covering a range of topics, including:
- The tax system
- Welfare services
- Barriers faced by women
- Entitlements in Ireland
A Focus on Inclusivity
This year’s event marks the second installment of Money Matters for Women, supported by numerous organizations including REACH funding, SOLAS, LCETB, and the Government of Ireland. It caters especially to migrant women who may encounter unique challenges when navigating financial systems in their new environment.
Yvie Murphy, Limerick Coordinator for the Women’s Collective Ireland, emphasized the importance of such educational resources, stating, “Very often when it comes to welfare and entitlements, you don’t know what you don’t know! This is especially true if you are new to a country. With this event we want to give women access to experts around navigating these systems and create a space where they can ask questions and learn more.”
Expert Insights and Resources
Participants can expect to hear from a variety of experts, including speakers from:
- Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI)
- Doras
- A solicitor specializing in Senior Law, Retirement, and Wills Estates and Probate
Additionally, attendees will have access to information stalls featuring organizations like Citizens Information, Paul Partnership, MABS, Adapt, and Alone.
