Their inspiration surged during a visit to a different bar where they faced difficulties getting the sound for a U.S. Women’s National Team soccer match. “I thought that they would be nice enough to play the sound for us, but they did not. And it was just sad and upsetting because no one was watching anything else,” Janie said, prompting them to take action.

After successfully launching Untamed Spirits in May, the Ellingwoods began connecting with other women’s sports bar owners, including Jax Diener, the owner of Watch Me in Long Beach. “It is a community, not a competition,” Janie remarked, emphasizing the supportive atmosphere among fellow entrepreneurs.
