ORLANDO, Fla. – The NCAA Singles Championship kicked off with a strong performance from Ole Miss Women’s Tennis player Emily Welker, who secured a decisive victory in her first-round match. Competing in Orlando, Florida, Welker faced off against No. 88 Lavinia Tanasie of North Carolina State in the Round of 64 on Tuesday morning.
Welker showcased her skill and determination, dominating the match with a score of 6-2, 6-1, to advance to the Round of 32. Her next challenge will come on Wednesday when she will compete against No. 45 Valeria Ray from Vanderbilt.
Upcoming Matches
In addition to singles competition, doubles play will commence on Wednesday. Welker, alongside her teammate Andrea Nova, will take on the duo of No. 48 Na Dong and Zuzanna Kubacha in the Round of 32.
