BIRMINGHAM – UAB Women’s Tennis Competes at Samford
On Wednesday afternoon, the UAB women’s tennis team faced off against Samford, ultimately losing the match with a score of 4-2.
Doubles Results
The Bulldogs began strong, securing the doubles point by winning matches on Courts 1 and 3:
- 1. Emily Surcey/Sara Erenda (SAM) defeated Vanessa Mellynchuk/Klara Kajabova (UAB) 6-4
- 2. Margaret Jaraczewski/Hailey Troup (SAM) vs. Enya Ratkic/Nera Tesankic (UAB) 5-4, unfinished
- 3. Eleni Liakonis/Meredith Taylor (SAM) defeated Kristyna Damaskova/Mackenzie White (UAB) 6-0
Singles Results
In singles play, Samford clinched three out of six matches. UAB’s Kristyna Damaskova and Klara Kajabova were the only Blazers to secure victories on Courts 2 and 3:

- 2. Kristyna Damaskova (UAB) defeated Margaret Jaraczewski (SAM) 6-3, 6-3
- 3. Klara Kajabova (UAB) defeated Sara Erenda (SAM) 6-4, 7-6
- 4. Eleni Liakonis (SAM) defeated Mackenzie White (UAB) 6-3, 6-2
- 5. Meredith Taylor (SAM) defeated Nera Tesankic (UAB) 6-3, 6-1
- 6. Libby Blair (SAM) vs. Enya Ratkic (UAB) 6-1, 1-3, unfinished

UAB will next take on Minnesota on Saturday, February 15, at 3 p.m. Please note that the match location has changed from its original venue at the Hoover Met Tennis Center to the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, due to weather conditions.
