BJP Criticizes RJD’s Dynastic Politics
In a recent workers’ conference held in Khagaria, Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, the Bihar state president of the BJP and Revenue Minister, launched a formidable critique against the family of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. He accused them of perpetuating dynastic politics, drawing an analogy between the RJD and the notorious Kauravas from Indian mythology. Jaiswal asserted that Bihar has evolved beyond the “lantern era,” a reference to the RJD’s electoral symbol, and is now focused on the development agenda championed by the NDA.
Empowerment of Women in Bihar
Targeting the RJD’s initiative, Tejashwi Yadav’s “Mai-Bahin Maan Yojana,” which promises Rs 2,500 monthly for women, Jaiswal critiqued this scheme as a mere imitation of the free incentives proposed by Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal. He argued that similar initiatives have often failed, suggesting that Bihar’s women, under the empowering leadership of Nitish Kumar, may end up providing financial assistance to Yadav instead.
Defending Minority Welfare
In a separate statement regarding the potential electoral implications of the Waqf Amendment Bill, JDU state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha defended Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s commitment to minority communities. Responding to concerns voiced by Islamic scholars, Kushwaha dismissed their warnings as attempts to commercialize Muslim votes. He highlighted Kumar’s historic contributions to minority welfare in independent India, reinforcing the notion that women’s empowerment and minority rights go hand in hand under his governance.
