CARLISLE, Pa. – The Dickinson women’s soccer team secured their third consecutive victory with a 3-1 triumph over Gettysburg College at Miller Memorial Field. This marks their second straight win in the Centennial Conference, showcasing their strong performance in the local rivalry match.
Match Overview
In the initial stages, Gettysburg applied early pressure, with Jane Daiutolo’s attempt being thwarted by Dickinson’s goalkeeper, Pico Gray, just 2 minutes and 41 seconds into the game. The Red and White responded effectively: in the eighth minute, Maddie St. Amand set up Anna Bitsko, who found the back of the net to give Dickinson a 1-0 lead.
First Half Highlights
Both teams exchanged shots for the next 20 minutes, but Dickinson’s attempts by Kaitlyn Arnold and Bitsko were met with solid saves from Gettysburg’s goalkeeper, Alex Jurow. With the score reduced to 2-1, Dickinson responded well. In the 74th minute, Ellie Nordwind extended their lead to 3-1, adding a critical goal to cushion their advantage. Jurow salvaged a goal-line threat in the final minutes, turning away another effort from Bitsko.
