CARLISLE, Pa. – The Dickinson women’s soccer team secured their third consecutive victory with a 3-1 triumph over Gettysburg College at Miller Memorial Field. This marks their second straight win in the Centennial Conference, showcasing their strong performance in the local rivalry match.

Match Overview

In the initial stages, Gettysburg applied early pressure, with Jane Daiutolo’s attempt being thwarted by Dickinson’s goalkeeper, Pico Gray, just 2 minutes and 41 seconds into the game. The Red and White responded effectively: in the eighth minute, Maddie St. Amand set up Anna Bitsko, who found the back of the net to give Dickinson a 1-0 lead.

First Half Highlights

Both teams exchanged shots for the next 20 minutes, but Dickinson’s attempts by Kaitlyn Arnold and Bitsko were met with solid saves from Gettysburg’s goalkeeper, Alex Jurow. Despite additional efforts from Joelle Ma and Lila Brown, it wasn’t until the 33rd minute that Dickinson increased their lead to 2-0. Emma Barrabee delivered a well-placed assist to Mckenna Gross, who finished decisively.

The half concluded with both teams having opportunities; however, neither could convert, maintaining Dickinson’s two-goal advantage as they headed into halftime.

Second Half Action

The second half began with a flurry of shots. Dickinson’s Norah Heacock and Ava Prisco had attempts go wide, while Gettysburg’s Kylee Gust forced a save from Gray. The momentum shifted when Gettysburg scored in the 58th minute: following a corner, Brooke Morrison unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box that clipped the crossbar and found the net.

With the score reduced to 2-1, Dickinson responded well. In the 74th minute, Ellie Nordwind extended their lead to 3-1, adding a critical goal to cushion their advantage. Jurow salvaged a goal-line threat in the final minutes, turning away another effort from Bitsko.
