Highlights from the Fresno State Classic
FRESNO, Calif. – In an exciting showcase of talent, Louise Depadt clinched her first victory of her collegiate career with the Tarleton State women’s golf team, as they proudly wrapped up the Fresno State Classic tied for fourth place on Tuesday.
The Purple and White completed the tournament with a score of +32 (896, 308-299-289), marking the seventh occasion this season that they have achieved a fourth-place or better finish across eight tournaments so far.
“I couldn’t be prouder of Louise’s achievement,” expressed head coach Isabel Jimenez. “Her consistency this season has been commendable, and this win has been well earned. Her steady performance throughout the tournament really speaks for itself. I have no doubt this victory is just the beginning of many more to come.”
Depadt stood out among her teammates, finishing the tournament with a remarkable score of -5 (211, 70-71-70), signifying her first individual title with the Purple and White.
“Lou Deltombe delivered an impressive round today, her best of the spring season so far,” added Jimenez. “She has dedicated herself to improving, and it’s wonderful to see her hard work paying off. The team also performed well, moving up a spot and coming very close to another top-three finish.”
Deltombe consistently supported her teammate, achieving a sixth-place finish with a total score of +3 (219, 76-75-68).
Meanwhile, Darianys Guzman and Elle Fox each secured top-30 finishes, with Guzman finishing 26th at +18 (234, 79-78-77), and Fox closely following in a tie for 30th at +20 (236, 84-78-74). Rounding out the Texans’ performance, Rebeca Fernandez finished just outside the top-30, concluding in a tie for 33rd with a score of +21 (237, 83-75-79).
The Texans have a quick turnaround ahead, gearing up for the 2025 Veritex Bank Collegiate next Monday. Hosted by the Mustangs of SMU, the tournament will kick off on Monday morning and conclude with the final 18 holes on Tuesday morning at the Trinity Forest Golf Course in Dallas, Texas.
