Denver NWSL Official Training Facility Construction Commences
Monday marked a significant milestone for the Denver NWSL as the organization officially broke ground on its new training facility. This expansive 43-acre site is being developed in collaboration with the City of Centennial and the Cherry Creek School District.
Facility Features and Benefits
The newly established facility will include a temporary stadium capable of seating 12,000 spectators, along with a dedicated training center spanning approximately 20,000 square feet. This center is innovatively designed to cater specifically to the needs of professional women’s sports.
Rob Cohen, the controlling owner of Denver NWSL, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating: “We’re just getting started, but breaking ground today on the performance center is a huge step. We’re building something our athletes can be proud of, and we couldn’t do it without the incredible support of the City of Centennial and Cherry Creek Schools.”
Location and Facilities
Situated in close proximity to the Denver Broncos’ training grounds, the new facility will boast various features designed for athletic excellence, including:
- Soccer fields
- Recovery amenities such as hot and cold plunge pools and red-light therapy
- A video analysis theater
- A family lounge
- Elite strength and conditioning areas
Community Involvement
Denver NWSL’s initiative also includes numerous community outreach programs. The collaboration with Cherry Creek School District entails a comprehensive benefits package, which features:
- Internship opportunities for students
- Classroom presentations from club staff
- A financial contribution of $100,000 to the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation
In addition to this training facility, earlier this year, the Denver NWSL unveiled plans for a new stadium, which will accommodate 14,500 fans. The stadium is projected to open in 2028 and will be located near I-25 and Broadway.
