Evangelia Paulk
AMES — In a significant move ahead of the 2025-26 season, Iowa State’s women’s basketball program has officially welcomed Evangelia Paulk to its roster. The talented player transfers from Wofford College and has two remaining years of eligibility to contribute to the Cyclones. Paulk joins Arizona’s Jada Williams as the second transfer acquisition for the team this offseason.
“We could not be more excited to add Evangelia to the Iowa State family,” expressed Coach Bill Fennelly. “As we evaluated our team for next year, we aimed to pinpoint individuals who would seamlessly integrate into the outstanding culture we have established. E is exactly what we wanted and needed.”
During her sophomore year in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Paulk distinguished herself by earning both the Southern Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year titles. She played a pivotal role in her team’s strategy, starting all 29 games while averaging over 32 minutes on the court per game.
Paulk led the Terriers in several statistical categories, including:
- Scoring average: 12.8 points per game
- Rebounding average: 8.4 rebounds per game
- Steals: 95, which also topped the Southern Conference
In addition, she displayed her shooting prowess, converting 42 three-pointers and providing 54 assists throughout the season. Paulk consistently scored in double figures, achieving this in 18 games, and she accumulated an impressive nine double-doubles.
Coach Fennelly highlighted Paulk’s potential impact on the team, stating, “She gives us needed length and athleticism on the wing. E is a two-way player that will provide more versatility at both ends of the floor. I know our fans will love watching her compete in a Cyclone uniform.”
Paulk’s freshman year was also remarkable; she was honored as the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year, recording averages of 8.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Notably, she started all 30 games and played almost 30 minutes per contest, achieving five double-doubles—setting a program record for Wofford.
