In the United States, there are more than 168 million women, many of whom are among the healthiest thanks to supportive communities and resources. According to recent findings, Connecticut has been recognized as the third best state for women’s health in 2025.
SmileHub.org has unveiled its report, “Best States for Women’s Health 2025,” where it evaluated all 50 states across three significant areas and 18 specific metrics. The primary dimensions include Health & Living Standards, Health Care Policies & Support Systems, and Safety Risk. Key metrics considered were Women’s Life Expectancy at Birth, Female Uninsured Rate, Share of Physically Active Women, Heart Disease Mortality Rate for Women, Female Smoker Rate, Quality of Women’s Hospitals, Access to and Policies on Abortion, Affordability of Doctor’s Visits, as well as Suicide and Depression Rates for Women, and the presence of Health & Wellness Charities per Total Number of Women.

Connecticut has excelled in 2025, boasting the highest quality women’s hospitals nationwide. Additionally, the state earned a remarkable #2 spot in the Safety metric. In terms of Health Care Policies & Support Systems, Connecticut is ranked #13, while it ranks #6 in Health & Living Standards. Massachusetts and Hawaii were the only states to surpass Connecticut, taking the top two positions respectively.

The Northeast region stands out as the best for women’s health in the United States for 2025, with all of New England and nearby states securing places in the Top 15. New York ranks #4, New Jersey #5, while Vermont and New Hampshire come in at #9 and #10, respectively. Rhode Island is also included in the top ranks at #14.
