Marcus Hunt Jr. Appointed as Head Coach for Clinton College Women’s Basketball

Clinton College has officially announced the appointment of Marcus Hunt Jr. as the new head coach of its women’s basketball team. This development marks a significant step for the college as it seeks to enhance its athletic program.

Background and Coaching Experience

Hunt joins Clinton College following a successful tenure as an assistant coach at Shorter University, where he contributed to player development and overall program advancement for three seasons. Prior to that, he held a similar role at Blue Mountain College (now known as Blue Mountain Christian University) from 2020 to 2022. While at Blue Mountain, Hunt was pivotal in recruiting standout players, including the 2022 SSAC Freshman of the Year and several All-Freshman team members.

A Focus on Development

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Hunt brings over a decade of coaching and player development experience. Among his notable achievements is his time with the Memphis Home Education Association, where he played a crucial role in developing five Homeschool All-Americans and contributed significantly to a national championship run.

Academic Qualifications

Hunt’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Memphis and a master’s degree in management from Shorter University. His academic achievements complement his extensive coaching credentials, positioning him well to lead the women’s basketball program at Clinton College.

Looking Ahead

As Clinton College prepares to welcome Hunt into this new role, further details about his coaching strategies and plans for the upcoming season will be shared once the appointment becomes official.
