Women Entrepreneurship Conference 2024: “Mumkin Hai!”
The fifth edition of the Women Entrepreneurship Conference (WECON) 2024, themed “Mumkin Hai!” (It’s Possible), took place at the Jinnah Auditorium of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad. This gathering brought together a diverse array of stakeholders dedicated to empowering Pakistani women entrepreneurs.
Collaboration and Empowerment
This prominent event was organized by the National Incubation Centre Islamabad in collaboration with Change Mechanics Ltd. It attracted industry leaders, policymakers, regulatory officials, and key figures from both the public and private sectors, all focused on enhancing support for women entrepreneurs throughout Pakistan.

The conference’s theme, “Mumkin Hai!” underscored the significance of collaboration as a catalyst for substantial change, aiming to transform the lives of countless women. Notable institutions such as the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Pakistan Single Window, GSMA, NAVTTC, NIBAF, Ignite Technology Fund, TiE Islamabad, Invest2Innovate, British Asian Trust, and various UN organizations participated. Their discussions revolved around developing a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Support and Commitment to Women’s Empowerment
Supporting organizations, including The World Bank Group, Jazz, CARE Pakistan, and Ignite National Technology Fund, showcased their dedication to advancing women’s economic empowerment through initiatives focused on digital literacy and financial inclusion.
Government Commitment
The chief guest, Planning and Development Minister Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, emphasized the crucial role of Pakistani women entrepreneurs in shaping the nation’s digital economy. He advocated for ongoing support through targeted interventions and initiatives to harness the potential of Pakistan’s youth.
He further stressed the importance of ensuring that women enjoy fair representation in the workforce, affirming, “The government is committed to creating equitable opportunities for women in all spheres of life.”
