Celebrating Women Leadership at the 11th Annual BRAVO Awards
The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Santa Barbara chapter, is set to host the 11th Annual BRAVO Awards on May 1, 2025. This prestigious event aims to honor the remarkable achievements of women leaders in the Santa Barbara community, under the theme “Elevating Women, Elevating Impact.”
Event Details
The luncheon will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Goleta, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. Co-hosted by NAWBO-SB President Kara Pearson and President-Elect Mary Jean Vignone, the ceremony will celebrate the contributions of nine distinguished women.
Madame of Ceremony and Keynote Speaker
Leading the event as Madame of Ceremony will be Anne Pazier, the owner of Santa Barbara Gift Baskets. The keynote address will be delivered by Elizabeth Cholawsky, an accomplished angel investor and former CEO of HG Insights.
Aims of the BRAVO Awards
The BRAVO Awards were established to recognize women who have significantly influenced Santa Barbara in various domains, including economic, political, philanthropic, and social spheres. Award recipients exemplify innovation, initiative, and the power to inspire.

- Woman Business Owner of the Year: Tina Takaya
- Entrepreneur to Watch: Polly Moharram
- Philanthropic Champion: Dr. Cynder Sinclair
- Public Policy Leader of the Year: Lizzie Rodriguez
- Education Advocate of the Year: Janice Brown
- Rising Star of the Year: Amelia Vander May and Sienna Valentine
- Kim Clark Leadership Award: Sherry Villanueva
