MBN Women’s Sports Awards Recognize Top Athletes
Acknowledging Excellence in Women’s Sports
On the 12th of June, the MBN Women’s Sports Awards announced that volleyball icon Kim Yeon-kyung and golfing sensation Jung Yoon-ji have clinched the MVP (Most Valuable Player) awards for April and May 2025, respectively. This event celebrates the outstanding contributions and performances of female athletes in South Korea.
Outstanding Achievements
Kim Yeon-kyung capped off her illustrious career with an impressive showing in the women’s professional volleyball V-League championship earlier this April. She played a crucial role in securing the integrated championship for her team, Heungkuk Life Insurance.
On the other hand, Jung Yoon-ji triumphed at the Korean LPGA Tour’s Sh Suhyup Bank MBN Women’s Open held at the Dustahue Golf & Resort in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, from the 30th of May to the 1st of June. This win marks her second career victory in just three years, showcasing her rapid rise in the golfing world.
