MINNEAPOLIS — The vibrant spirit of Black women was celebrated in Minnesota with the second annual Madam Juneteenth pageant, which recognized women ages 31-39. This year’s event culminated on June 7, where Sannia Elzia, a resident of Mendota Heights and a dedicated small business owner, was crowned the inaugural Madam Juneteenth.
In an engaging appearance on KARE 11 News at Noon, Sannia was joined by Rev. William H. Pierce, who serves as a pageant advisor, to discuss the significance of the competition and its commitment to honoring excellence among Black women.
The Madam Juneteenth pageant aims to uplift and empower women while offering a platform for girls and women aged 6 to 39 to participate in Miss Juneteenth and Madam Juneteenth competitions. For those interested in applying, further details can be found by clicking here.
