Continued Commitment to Women’s Health
In a related development, the 28th Technical Meeting of the G5 Forum took place in Tehran from February 13 to 15, 2024, with a strong focus on “Women and Family Health.” Participating nations included Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with observations from the World Health Organization.
The meeting’s agenda revolved around collaborative strategies to enhance the health of women and mothers across the participating countries. Indicators, achievements, and challenges regarding women’s health—spanning physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions—were critically evaluated.
Significance of Women’s Health
Former Health Minister Bahram Einollahi emphasized the crucial role mothers play in their families’ health, stating, “A mother’s health is the pillar of a family’s health, which leads to the expansion of health in a country.” He articulated that healthy women contribute to a healthier society, highlighting their fundamental role in maintaining family wellbeing.
By fostering physical, mental, cultural, emotional, and spiritual health, women fortify not just their families but society as a whole, thus reaffirming their essential part in sustaining a vibrant community.
As the initiatives unfold during Women’s Health Week, the emphasis on education, empowerment, and health awareness aims to fortify the resilience of women in the face of ongoing and future challenges.
