CBS Sports has announced a significant expansion of its sports broadcasting portfolio by acquiring the exclusive rights to stream all matches of the UEFA Women’s Champions League in the United States. This agreement will last through 2030 and marks a new broadcasting era for women’s football in the region.
Comprehensive Coverage and Streaming Options
Starting next season, CBS Sports and its streaming service, Paramount+, will feature all 75 matches of the UEFA Women’s Champions League exclusively. In addition to online streaming, select matches will also be available on CBS Sports Network and the CBS Sports Golazo Network, enhancing accessibility for fans across various platforms.
Previous Broadcasting Arrangements
Prior to this deal, the Women’s Champions League matches were broadcast on DAZN and YouTube over the past four years. The transition to CBS Sports signifies a broadening interest and commitment to women’s sports and increased opportunities for viewership.
Expanding UEFA Rights
This acquisition not only gives CBS Sports exclusive rights to the Women’s Champions League but also consolidates its position as the sole broadcaster of all UEFA competitions in the U.S., which includes the men’s Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League, and the Youth League. Furthermore, CBS Sports carries various women’s soccer events such as the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), Concacaf W Champions Cup, and the Concacaf W Gold Cup.
This strategic move underscores CBS Sports’ commitment to promoting women’s sports and providing comprehensive coverage of notable competitions, furthering their goal to grow the audience and interest in women’s athletics.
