Lawrence, Kansas – Caroline Manzi, a promising tennis player from Freehold Township, New Jersey, has officially committed to play for the Kansas Jayhawks. The announcement was made today by Todd Chapman, the head coach of the Jayhawks, confirming that Manzi will join the team as a freshman for the 2026-27 academic year.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have Caroline join our Kansas Tennis family!” exclaimed Chapman. “Caroline is a player we have watched develop this past year, and she will make an immediate impact on our program. Caroline is very driven, and we believe her best tennis is in front of her. We can’t wait for her to get to Kansas to start working with her and to help her reach her future goals both on and off the court.”
Rated as a five-star recruit by the Tennis Recruiting Network, Manzi holds an impressive position in the senior recruiting class, currently ranked No. 42. Competing in various tournaments across the United States and Canada, she has achieved a remarkable 70 percent win rate, showcasing her talent and dedication to the sport.
“I chose Kansas because I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere and everything the program has to offer,” said Manzi. “On my visit, everyone from the staff to the team was so kind and welcoming. I was also blown away by the beauty of the campus and how many great resources the school provides. I immediately knew it would be the best fit for me.”
As Kansas Tennis prepares for its upcoming season, the Jayhawks are scheduled to conclude their fall season at the NCAA Championships in Orlando, Florida, from November 18 to 23. Following this, the spring season will kick off in January, featuring a series of back-to-back matches against teams such as Creighton, Kansas City, Nebraska, and Clemson.
