Women’s Lacrosse Highlights
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Southern Connecticut State University’s women’s lacrosse team celebrated a significant achievement as junior goalkeeper Caelan Connors earned the title of Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week for Week Four. This recognition, announced by the NE10 on March 17, 2025, marks Connors’ first accolade in this category during her collegiate career.
In an impressive performance against the nationally ranked Saint Anselm, Connors showcased her skills by making a season-high 15 saves in an intense 8-7 overtime defeat. Her efforts resulted in an impressive .652 save percentage, standing out with 15 saves from 28 shots faced. Currently, Connors ranks second in the NE10, averaging 10 saves per game.
The Owls are set to continue their season with an exciting matchup against #6 Saint Leo University on Tuesday, March 18, at 6:00 p.m. in Saint Leo, Florida. Following this, Southern Connecticut will compete against Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida, on Wednesday, March 19, at 5:00 p.m. Later, on March 26, the team will head to West Haven, Connecticut, to face their NE10 rival, the University of New Haven, at 4:00 p.m. Southern Connecticut will then return to Jess Dow Field to kick off a four-game homestand with a non-conference match against Caldwell University on Thursday, March 27, at 4:00 p.m.
