BMHS Champions Women’s and Children’s Health Innovations
In a powerful reaffirmation of its leadership role in Indonesia’s healthcare landscape, PT Bundamedik Tbk (BMHS) recently marked its 52nd anniversary with the HealthConEx 2025 forum. This gathering attracted a substantial number of multidisciplinary doctors, focusing on the theme “Empowering Futures: Stretching Health Outcomes for Women and Children.”
The Importance of Holistic Health Services
BMHS President Commissioner, Dr. dr. Ivan Rizal Sini, emphasized the organization’s commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare for families. He stated, “As a pioneer of women’s and children’s health services for more than 52 years, BMHS not only focuses on medical services but also plays a vital role in crafting a sustainable health ecosystem.”
Dr. Sini outlined the institution’s multifaceted approach, including:
- A holistic Center of Excellence covering fertility, pregnancy, and child growth.
- Health services aligned with international accreditation standards.
- Innovative solutions like robotic surgery to meet the evolving needs of healthcare.
Challenges in Women’s and Children’s Health
Despite advances, Indonesia continues to face significant health challenges, particularly concerning maternal and child mortality, pregnancy complications, and issues related to reproductive health. BMHS Independent Commissioner, Retno Marsudi, stated that addressing these challenges is pivotal for national development.
“The quality of future generations relies heavily on how we maintain the health of mothers and children today. Therefore, equal access to quality services is crucial,” Marsudi added.
Community Engagement Initiatives
As part of its commitment to building a resilient healthcare ecosystem, BMHS actively engages in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. These initiatives reached over 700 mothers and children across six cities and included:
- Free circumcision services for more than 300 children from low-income families.
- Educational programs for early detection of cervical cancer involving over 400 mothers.
- Interventions aimed at preventing stunting in vulnerable communities.
“BMHS not only delivers services but also acts as a partner in developing an inclusive health system,” Retno remarked, highlighting the long-term impact of such initiatives.
Launching Bunda Homecare Services
In alignment with its dedication to preventive health, BMHS introduced Bunda Homecare—a service providing in-home medical visits, vaccinations, and health checks tailored to families’ needs. This initiative, launched during HealthConEx 2025, aims to make healthcare more accessible and personalized.
Available across the BMHS hospital network, Bunda Homecare employs a team that includes a general practitioner and a nurse for each visit, maintaining the standards of the Bunda Group Hospital.
Future Vision and Initiatives
HealthConEx 2025 featured a range of activities, including scientific discussions with expert speakers and public health talks. BMHS President Director, Agus Heru Darjono, affirmed that these efforts align with BMHS’s vision of leading innovative family health service solutions.
“Through this forum and the launch of Bunda Homecare, we celebrate our achievements while committing to a future of collaborative and impactful healthcare innovations,” he concluded.
