WACO, Texas – In an exciting initiative aimed at students in grades 8 and below, Baylor University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams are set to host their annual “Future Bears Day,” generously sponsored by Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center. This special event will take place at the Paul and Alejandra Foster Pavilion.
Scheduled dates for the “Future Bears Day” events are as follows:
- Women’s Basketball: Tuesday, December 9, at 11 a.m. against Alabama State.
- Men’s Basketball: Wednesday, December 10, at 11 a.m. against Norfolk State.
This season, there will be enhanced seating capacity, allowing up to 5,000 participating students to enjoy the games.
Registration Details
Schools from kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to register for the event. It’s important to note that while registration is open, it does not guarantee attendance. Baylor Athletics will reach out to confirm each school’s registration status. Participating schools will receive complimentary admission for their students to the games.
To complete the online registration, schools must provide the following:
- Number of students attending
- Faculty or staff accompanying
- Number of buses required
Once registrations are confirmed, schools will receive information about their assigned seating sections and further instructions about one week prior to the event. It is mandatory for schools to provide adequate supervision for the students attending.
Important Dates
Registration will remain open until Friday, October 17, at 5 p.m.. Selected schools will be notified by Friday, October 24, regarding their acceptance. Final attendance numbers must be submitted by Friday, October 31.
Transportation and Parking
All buses transporting students will be required to park at McLane Stadium. Upon arrival, buses must check in at the designated parking area before being allowed to proceed to the Foster Pavilion for student drop-off. Note that bus drivers will not be permitted to act as chaperones; they must stay with their buses after unloading students. Additionally, personal vehicle drop-offs will not be allowed on site.
Food and Seating Arrangements
Concessions will be available for purchase, although schools may opt to bring lunch for their students. For season ticket holders wishing to attend, the Sideline Club will provide general admission seating, with Courtside Club ticket holders retaining their usual seating arrangements.
