Western Michigan Women’s Tennis Team Competes at Michigan State Classic
East Lansing, Michigan – The Western Michigan women’s tennis team recently showcased their skills at the 2025 Michigan State Classic while some members participated in the Mid-American Conference Fall Championships.
Doubles Results
In doubles play, both Bronco teams faced challenges in their opening matches. However, they rebounded successfully in the consolation rounds. Sienna Osborne and Ayana Yaguchi secured a 6-4 victory against DePaul’s duo of Hannah Smith and Clara Nilsson. Meanwhile, Marielou Baudouin and Xintong Jiang also claimed a 6-4 win over the Blue Demons’ Sasha Sakura Stula and Helin Alvarez.
Singles Performance
The singles matches saw notable victories from Osborne and Baudouin on the final day of competition. Osborne triumphed over Michigan State’s Hanna Tsitavets with a decisive score of 6-3, 6-1, while Baudouin won 6-3, 6-2 against Clara Nilsson. Prior to this, Baudouin had achieved a solid win, taking down MSU’s Sara Fazlagic 6-4, 6-2 on Saturday.
Looking Ahead
The Broncos are scheduled for a week-long break before traveling to the ITA Midwest Regionals, which will be hosted by the University of Illinois.
