PADUCAH, Ky. – The UNC Asheville women’s golf team has marked a successful start to their season by capturing another impressive finish, securing second place out of 16 teams at The Velvet Classic.
The Bulldogs concluded the tournament with a total score of 896 over three rounds, firing a final round of 298 (+10). They finished just one stroke behind the victors, Troy, who clinched the win with a final round of 295 (+7).

Individual Highlights
Leading the Bulldogs, Pennie Osterberg finished strongly, ending in a four-way tie for first after 54 holes and advancing to a playoff hole, which was ultimately won by Troy’s Constanza Quiroga. Osterberg posted rounds of 73-73-75.
Jordyn Arts had a standout performance, tying for fifth place with rounds of 73-75-75, marking her best tournament to date.
Breanna Hoese also shone, finishing tied for ninth with scores of 74-76-75. Notably, Hoese topped the field in total pars with 40.
Other notable performances included Caroline Patterson, who climbed 17 spots to finish in a four-way tie for 25th (81-77-73), and Lauren Madson, who ended in a three-way tie for 40th (84-73-80).
