Caylen Alexander’s New Journey: Commitment to Missouri
Caylen Alexander is ready for her next adventure. The former star of Hawaii’s women’s volleyball team announced her decision to join the University of Missouri on Monday, just days after entering the transfer portal following an impressive junior season with the Rainbow Wahine.
In an enthusiastic Instagram post, Alexander expressed her excitement: “So excited for the next chapter!! Go Tigers!”
Impressive Accomplishments
The standout player, who was named the Big West Player of the Year and earned All-Pacific Region honors, will have the opportunity to play a significant role for a competitive Missouri team coached by Dawn Sullivan. Last season, the Tigers finished with a 22-9 record and made it to the NCAA Sweet 16, where they faced a tough match against fellow SEC competitor Kentucky.
Career Highlights
Hailing from Alpharetta, Georgia, Alexander concluded her career at UH ranked 16th in program history with 1,225 career kills. Notably, she led the nation with 611 total kills when the Rainbow Wahine faced TCU in a first-round sweep loss during the NCAA tournament in Eugene, Oregon.
A Heartfelt Farewell
Over the weekend, Alexander took a moment to express her gratitude for her time in Hawaii. In a heartfelt social media post, she wrote, “I am forever grateful that I was able to experience this beautiful place filled with amazing fans, friends, and family! I will always hold a special place in my heart for Hawaii!”
Additionally, her teammates, middle Jacyn Bamis and backup setter Jackie Matias, have also entered the transfer portal following the conclusion of the 2024 season.
