Akron Women’s Soccer Team Shines with Academic Honors
AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron’s women’s soccer team has earned recognition from College Sports Communicators (CSC) as part of the 2024 Academic All-District® women’s soccer team. This prestigious honor highlights the exemplary achievements of several players who have excelled both on the soccer field and in their academic pursuits.
Honorees on the Academic All-District® Team
The distinguished athletes include redshirt senior Katie Stafford from Gahanna, Ohio, alongside seniors Quinn Casey from Powell, Ohio, and Ella Hadley from Concord, Ohio. Additionally, sophomores Kiana Harsh from Waterville, Ohio, Hannah Langstaff from Washington, Illinois, Jordanne Oberhaus from Wadsworth, Ohio, and Anna Simmons from Manassas, Virginia, were also honored for their hard work and dedication.
Criteria for Selection
To qualify for nomination, student-athletes must hold a role as a starter or significant reserve while maintaining a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale at their current institution. An athlete must also participate in 90 percent of the institution’s games or start in at least 66 percent of them to be eligible for this recognition.
Advancement to Academic All-America®
Those named as Academic All-District® honorees will be considered for inclusion on the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. The first, second, and third-team Academic All-America® selections will be announced on December 11, 2024.
