Memphis Invite: Arkansas State Women’s Tennis Sees Strong Performance Against Middle Tennessee
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (9/13/25) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis team showcased strong tennis skills on Saturday as they achieved seven victories against Middle Tennessee during the Memphis Invite.
Doubles Matches
The Red Wolves started the day on a high note, winning two of three doubles contests. In a competitive opening match, the duo of Lilly Cvanciger and Carla Muro Castellvi triumphed over Lena Peyer and Eda Numanoglu with a score of 6-3 on court one. Although Sarah Millard and Hanmare McAslin faced a setback, losing 6-3 on court two, Anna Grigoreva and Meghna Arun Kumar rounded out the doubles session with a closely-fought 7-5 victory against Zora Koenig and Sadbaroy Kholdarova.
Singles Matches
In singles play, Cvanciger continued her winning momentum by securing a 3-0 victory over Peyer, which included set scores of 6-3, 7-6, and a final tiebreaker of 7-4. In a contrasting match, Anna Grigoreva won the first set against Sthefany Lima 6-1 but eventually lost the subsequent sets 6-3 and 6-1.
Muro Castellvi excelled as well, claiming her match against Rutuja Chaphalkar with two consecutive 6-4 sets. Meanwhile, McAslin captured her match, defeating Sadbaroy Kholdarova with set scores of 7-5 and 6-3. The winning streak continued with Millard, who secured her match on court four with a score of 7-5, 6-3, while Arun Kumar completed the success with a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Sara Conde on court six.
