2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament Ready to Roll

Teams Qualified for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026

The completion of the Women’s Continental Cups—namely the Women’s AfroBasket, Women’s AmeriCup, Women’s Asia Cup, and Women’s EuroBasket—has revealed the 24 teams set to compete in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournaments in March 2026. Here’s a breakdown of the qualifying teams by region.

Africa

The top four teams from the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket 2025 that qualified for the World Cup Qualifying Tournaments are:

  • Mali
  • Nigeria
  • Senegal
  • South Sudan

Americas

In the Americas, the top six teams that will participate from the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2025 are:

  • Argentina
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Colombia
  • Puerto Rico
  • USA

Asia and Oceania

From the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2025, the following six teams have qualified:

  • Australia
  • China
  • Japan
  • Korea
  • New Zealand
  • Philippines

Europe

Germany, as the host nation for the Women’s World Cup 2026, is automatically qualified. Additionally, Czechia and Hungary earned their spots through success in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Pre-Qualifying Tournaments held in 2024:

  • Czechia
  • Hungary

Furthermore, the top five teams from the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2025 include:

  • Belgium
  • France
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • Türkiye

Here is a consolidated list of the teams that have qualified:

  • Host Nation: Germany
  • Pre-Qualifying Tournament Winners: Czechia, Hungary

In total, 24 teams will vie for one of the 16 available spots in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026, with Germany and the winners of each Women’s Continental Cup already guaranteed their places. This leaves 11 additional spots to be filled during the qualifying tournaments.

Next Steps for Qualification
