Iliana Rentz Advocates for Women’s Heart Health
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – On March 24, 2025, it was reported that nearly 50% of women aged 20 and above are living with some form of cardiovascular disease (CVD), making it the leading cause of death in women. In her commitment to enhancing women’s heart health, Iliana Rentz from Pike Electric has taken on the role of Chairperson for the 2025 Palm Beach County Go Red for Women initiative.
About the Go Red for Women Movement
Initiated over 20 years ago, Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association’s worldwide movement aimed at raising awareness of women’s heart health. This movement serves as a vital catalyst for improving health outcomes for women everywhere.
A Personal Connection to Heart Disease
Iliana Rentz shares her heartfelt story: “Heart disease has profoundly affected my own life. My first daughter, Victoria, was born with a heart defect and tragically passed away shortly after her birth. Heart disease impacts so many of us, often in ways we hesitate to address. I am honored to lead this initiative to increase awareness, encourage other mothers to share their experiences with heart disease, and motivate women of all ages to take charge of their heart health.”
Leading Fundraising and Awareness Efforts
As Chairperson, Rentz is spearheading fundraising and awareness initiatives leading up to the Palm Beach County Go Red for Women Luncheon scheduled for April 10. This event is vital for recognizing the importance of heart health among women.
Understanding Cardiovascular Disease
CVD remains the foremost cause of death in women, responsible for more fatalities than all cancers combined. The American Heart Association emphasizes that as women progress through various life stages—such as pregnancy and menopause—their risk for CVD can change. Fortunately, many incidents of cardiovascular disease can be averted through lifestyle changes and education.
Acknowledgment from the Community
John Domenico, board chairperson of the American Heart Association Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast, expressed gratitude for Rentz’s passionate dedication to the Go Red for Women movement. “Her powerful story is sure to resonate with many individuals and encourage them to reflect on their own heart health,” he stated.
